It’s pretty bad when you get turned down for a DEBIT CARD. PayPal is extremely economical with the truth. Yesterday I noticed that PayPal is now issuing Debit Cards. Wherefore, I clicked the button requesting a debit card from PayPal. A few hours later I received a response from PayPal which said, inter alia;

“Thank you for applying for the PayPal MasterCard Debit Card. In reviewing your application, we noticed that you have received a higher than normal amount of unauthorized credit card charges.”

HOWEVER, I have NEVER had one single unauthorized credit card charge to my account. I wrote PayPal informing them of their error. PayPal handled this error in their usual manner – by ignoring my letter. It also appears that PayPal is managed by a bunch of amateurs. Just one look at all of the petty policy updates tell you that PayPal surely is a learn as you go operation. Moreover, PayPal does not abide by its own policies. “Buyer Beware”

Hi moor,

I think they are stating that a fair number of charge backs have been received against the account.

Please send me your email address to [email protected] and I will check this out for you.

moor:

To save yourself some hassle, you might want to send your email address to paypaldamon 2 or 3 times. If you do this upfront, he will not be able to stall around, asking for you to re-send the same info again and again.

See my post entitled "PayPal fraud investigation: Damon, please help!" for details...

Hi purplehaze1967,

As a reminder, I did advise you that I am not handling the closure on your issue and that I did forward your information off to the appropriate parties. I also advised you to contact me if you were not contacted. I can't handle every case that comes in through the boards or it could be a case, such as yours, that needs to be directed for attention.

I have asked a few times for an update...once you asked that I re-send my e-mail info, and once with no reply at all.

I do not recall any indication from you that you were just handing off this case, nor do I remember you saying that I should contact you if I did not receive a response.

Please provide a ballpark timeframe in which I can expect a contact from PayPal.

thanks
Rob

purplehaze1967,

Take this time to enjoy the positive thoughts as they "look into" your specific case.

The disappointment always comes in the end when you're told that they're not going to do anything for you.

At least now, you have hope!
