Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know if shipping costs are calculated into the Paypal transaction fee.

There is a box where the winning bidder can enter in the shipping amount, but it seems that most buyers don't use it.

Example:

$10.00 sell price + $5.00 shipping - If the buyer enters $15.00 as the item price are you paying fees based on a $15.00 transaction?

If the buyer enters $5.00 in the box marked "shipping" is that exempt from fees?

Thanks,
Joe

It's all the same to PayPal, or to any payment service. Money is money.

Anytime you accept credit cards, the transaction is based upon the ENTIRE amount.

(Have you ever gone into a restaurant and paid via credit card? When you fill in the tip amount, the restaurant has to pay fees on the WHOLE bill, not just the restaurant bill).

So, yes, you are paying fees on the entire amount paid.
