PayPal Preferred Program Policy Update
Notice Date: November 8, 2001
Effective Date: December 6, 2001
The PayPal Preferred program is designed to reward active eBay sellers who advertise PayPal as their only online payment option on eBay. Beginning December 6th, sellers will only be considered "active" if they have listed at least one auction in the previous 3 weeks. Sellers who do not remain active on eBay as defined above will have their PayPal Preferred benefits temporarily suspended. Their benefits will be restored once we find that they have listed an item on eBay, with PayPal as the only online payment option. PayPal Debit Card holders that consistently list "PayPal only" auctions on eBay will not be affected.
Users that are PayPal Preferred can earn 1.5 cash back if they use their PayPal Debit Card as a MasterCard (for purchases). The program requires that you list PayPal as the only online payment option in your eBay listings.

after receiving 2 paypal email notices which said i have been offering other online payment in my auction,i just received a notice from paypal that i will no longer receive the 1 1/2 % cash rebate on my debit card?
i have no idea how other online payment option gets into my auction, and none of the auction closed lately have been paid via billpoint,so what should i do now?
i have emailed paypal customer service and i dont expect them to do anything??????
i think we ebay sellers are like football in this ebay online payment battle between paypal and billpoint???
going to another auction site sounds like a good idea where there is no billpoint and no paypal?????????????

Hi wowwow85,
We are working on a manual workaround for users that have had issues like this. Please feel free to drop me an email in a couple of days, as I hope the fix is in place by then.

I have the same circumstance as wowwow. This is ridiculous! PayPal gets 95+% of my credit card payments and now wants to squeeze every last payment thru them. We as sellers have been stuck in the middle and I personally do not have time to manually go through each auction and eliminate wording that may contain a competitor.
I called PayPal this morning and they said I would receive an email explaning how to reinstate my preferred status. I later received two emails stating that my auctions will be reviewed in one week and if acceptable my preferred status will be resumed. I guess I had listed ProPay in my AW preferences and PayPal took it as too severe a threat.

in my case,i think the item which was created prior to checkout, when it was relisted ,ebay just plugged the shipping fee into the checkout shipping area and turn on the checkout specified option.
so you have to review your relisted item to make sure you clear the shipping fee and un check the checkout option.
