I read all of your notes. I feel for you. I purchased something, then contacted PayPal to reverse the transaction. They did. They told me on the phone they took the money out of the seller's account and I'd get it back after their 35 day investigation. PROOF THAT THEY TOOK MONEY FROM THE SELLER: The seller finally contacted me after 6 emails, not to answer questions I had asked, but to tell me PayPal reversed the transaction. He could not have known that unless PAypal told him that. So PayPal has told me and emailed me they didn't get the money, but the seller could not have known I did it unless Paypal did take it. TO further the situation, Paypal told me in emails and on the phone, they didn't get the money. I sure hope they really do record their conversations, so they can go back and listen to what they said on the phone. I even gave them the benefit of the doubt that they made an honest mistake when they said the investigation said I was defrauded but they couldn't recover my funds. They did recover MY funds, they just gave them to someone else. BUT Finally, I got a new response from PayPal--they said they may have and gave it to someone else, so there's no money left for me. I say it was my transaction reversed, so it should be returned to me. Any more suggestions? I have filed my complaint with 2 federal agencies, but I don't know how long it will take for them to respond. Thanks and good luck.

they gave the money to someone else??
they must know who that someone else is ??did that someone else empty his account as soon as he sees this windfall ??
there is too much room for mischief in cyberspace, one person one identity,if a person wants another identity like dr jykell and mr hyde, then mr hyde should have his own bank account,cc,ss and fingerprints.
in some situation, there should be a medical report to verify sex of the participant, often in a chat room you could be meeting members of your same sex when you think you are meeting members of opposite sex.

Questionguy, did you file a buyer complaint? If you did, you may have done it after other buyers (who filed complaints against the same seller), so the other sellers got first priority in getting their money back, and after they got their money back the seller's account had nothing in it, so there wasn't any money in his account to give you. If this is the case, it probably complies with PayPal's TOU, but it is yet another example of PayPal's Buyer (non-)protection policy.
NWREBEL, I'd suggest doing a three way call with your bank, and PayPal. Ask PayPal about the e-check transaction. They will tell you it was canceled. Then the bank has proof that PayPal says it is canceled, and your bank should reverse the transaction.

i tracked movement of my financial transaction among different sites where i have account-merchant bank ,commercial bank ,credit card issuer, paypal, billpoint, amzn one click.
commercial banks seem to the slowest to record the activity on their website.
i saw nwrebel scan of his bank account activities and it said 1/8/02 paypal took the money, then the money is gone from his bank account.
well, next week if paypal is right, then it should come back to the bank, now since newrebel has closed his account at the bank, this will just delay getting his money back??
