I know a guy who's studying internet law at the University of Akron that can help. Here's his resume. He's from India. Smuggled guns to Afganistan for the US in the early 80s. Joined this country a few years later and joined the marines where he became a Desert Storm War veterine. Currently works on computers while he fineshes his Law Degree at Akron U ....specializing in internet law. I don't know about you but I'm impressed. On top of that he's a nice guy. He's given me some great advice. You don't have to pay him because he's not licensed yet but when you win you should give him a donation. If you want his number he's really current with the laws and he'll recommend great ways to proceed. PS: It's a shame we have to do this. I don't see any laws forming for at least a couple more years. I hear the feds are all over Paypal. Perhaps we'll be given a Free trip to Washington to testify. Woooopeeeeee!

There is also law suits against every major corporation in america for one reason or another. I am not saying that all paypal lawsuits are without merit but some people on this board dig their own grave jump in by themselves and then blame others when they couldn't get out.

i agree,i was at the fish market yesterday, and i have to be careful not to be stuck with smelly fish!!
if you buy a whole salmon,it is 2.99 a lb (versus 3.99 a lb if you part part of it),and you know how big salmon fish is,if it is is not fresh,i would be stuck with the whole fish.

Why would your clients and customers care if you filed a lawsuit? All they want is there merchandise and you are the one preventing them from getting it. Not PayPal. PayPal is just trying to protect all other users so everyone doesn't lose their money because of your chargebacks. Move on get a different credit card holder, maybe your own. Same with the rest of the frivolus lawsuits. This world is becoming one large law suit. All you are doing is padding the pockets of the lawyers. Do what paypal says and you can begin business again. If you don't want to use paypal then find another vendor for credit cards.

Libra63, would you ship goods without the money in hand? Maybe you would, but I wouldn't. When PayPal restricts an account, they make it all look nice and say the money's there, just not available at the moment. In reality, your account has nothing in it, and PayPal may choose to put the money back later. If someone sent me a money order and when I presented it for deposit, they refused to honor it, I wouldn't then go out and ship the goods. Once I physically have the money (after it clears) from a money order/check then I ship, and thats what most sellers do, or there would be a huge amount of buyer fraud. PayPal is similar to that. A person sends you money, and PayPal says you have money, but you can't have it. I'm sorry, but not being able to withdraw the money isn't having the money.

PayPal doesn't exactly have a choice in the matter. They could make it difficult but they can't make it impossible.

I find it interesting that the individuals who have not had problems blame the victims of Paypal's fraud friendly payment service. Paypal could slow user growth and require more old fashioned paper and phone confirmations when adding credit cards and confirming addresses. This alone would be a halt to the largest percentage of fraud going on with the service. Plus they need to emphasize at every turn the RISKs involved with sending money and ways to guarantee user protection. All the talk about liquid funds and ease of use just doesn't cut it when they are restricting and automatically reversing payments and then claiming the users did it. This kind of behavior is just screwy and hurts both them and the user.
