The refund wording is confusing some users. Our product team has advised me---
Could you get the word out on the boards about the refund button? Apparently users are confused -- some sellers think that PayPal is telling them they need to refund the payment or that their buyers asked for a refund. Rather, it's an optional feature that sellers can choose to use when appropriate. Seeing a refund button does not mean that you are being asked to issue a refund.
In other words...only you can issue a refund, and it is based on discussions between you and your buyer. It is only showing the option as being available.

This is VERY confusing. I opened my PayPal
account today to find my last 7 payments with REFUND on the line. I clicked on and it said there's not enough money in my account right now to issue the refund, but if I want, they'll take it out of my bank account. (I had just withdrawn, so there was just a tiny amount in my account.) I thought that as I built up money in the account they would issue the refunds from my account. So happy to read PayPalDamon's
explanation!

This was confusing to me also!! I went to my PayPal account and saw the Refund button and thought I had to refund the money for some reason. I did not, but decided I would come to these boards to find an answer. It didn't take long!! Thanks!!
