It all started when I thought it was a good idea to sign up for the ATM debt card but the day after it all came tumbling down ... first they restrict my account because I had a different name on my bank account which is totally understandable because its as if the account wasn’t mines , but the NEXT day I went to the bank and got a notarized statement from the bank itself stating that my name is now on that account so I fax that over along with EVERYTHING they included on the list even if they said blank OR blank I sent over both ...
Now its been almost 1 month and counting...
Over 10 emails have been sent only one reply telling me to go to the fax page again, and over 20 phone calls leading always to the same answer... And basically the answer is we don’t know when they will be done
Well since this incident started there was only about 1000 in my account now its up to 7000 and i have completely STOP my business because I have already lost 7000 (and counting because of slow payers) in funds and merchandise .
This also happened to someone I knew, he told me to get a lawyer to help me settle it...
I read somewhere in the FAQ that if all else fails they will cancel your account and send you a check of your balance correct?
Please tell me your thoughts and suggestions on what i should do
Thank you in advance

Getting a lawyer will not help much unless your in California. Send and e-mail to damon at [email protected]. Understand that since you are dealing with paypal as a single user and you have agreed to their TOS, you can not sue, just ask club1man. Damon is you best hope.
Also understand that if you do complain, PayPal will state that you voilated some section of the TOS and that it is your fault. Since you have collected all this money from customers, have started to complain to PayPal about non-delivery or anything like that. I my now be not the reason for the restriciton, but complaints may holding up.

if your account is restricted, stop accepting paypal payments!
either have the paypal logo remove or hit the refund button when payment comes in.
if you do so within 14 days after payment received, you incur no fee.

I agree with stopwhining. Why are you still accepting PayPal Payments. When something like that occurs you should have stopped taking paypal immediately until you get your problem resolved. Have you stopped now? I sure hope so.

Sounds like what happened to me. I told them to stop accepting monies into my account and they still accepted over 10k. Ah hell wait til the sec gets finished with world com and knocks on payponzi's doors. The smelly poop will hit the fan.

one of the problems is when your account is on restriction people can still send you money (paypal want their fees) so even if you say not to and someone does it gets ACCEPTED.

Exactly! Since you can't really do anything with your account except sit there until they make a decision to keep your money...ooops, I mean a decision on unrestricting your account...the only thing I have found that worked for me to stop the PayPal logos was to change my Ebay Password, preventing PayPal from accessing my auctions. However, that does not stop the person that thinks that, even though you do not state PayPal anywhere in your auction, you will, of course , accept it...; PayPal took their fees right off the top, so even the refund button leaves you with some of your funds stuck in PayPal Hell. Good luck! Snuggle

Angelgeorge: Did you have your PayPal money in the interest account at PayPal (money market) or the non-interest account? If you had the interest account, see this thread!

when you paypal account keeps building up to 7000,did you ship the goods to customer??
if you do not, they will file chargeback and complaints and then your account will get restricted for another reason.

Stopwhinning not to be combative but do you realize what happens when payponzi keeps allowing monies to come in and then the person doesn't have the product. In my case I bought gold every day and payponzi restricted my account. One thing I didn't know was who had sent me money and another it wasn't but a few days and I didn't have the gold to cover. Believe me when I say that I wasn't running on as a tight budget as some are.
In the beginning they held up money on me and I had to go to the bank and borrow money to buy gold so I could cover what my customers wanted. Then they screwed me to where i didn't even get the chance to pay it back. Damn I feel for these people.
