PayPal's Money Back Guarantee program, which applies to selected physical goods transactions for less than $1,000, ensures that if you buy the Guarantee, you will be satisfied with your purchase or have an option to resell the merchandise to PayPal for the price you paid for it for the first 30 calendar days following the date of payment or seven days after receipt, whichever is earlier. PayPal will not reimburse you for the Guarantee fee or for any shipping costs you incur in returning the merchandise. PayPal's obligation to reimburse you if you buy the Guarantee is subject to the requirements specified in sections ii and iii below and to your filing a complete and accurate reimbursement request as described in section iv below. This Guarantee is applied in addition to any protection you may already have.

buyers can protect themselves free by not buying from sellers who would not accept returns,
buyers can also use credit card for payment and file chargeback if seller refuses to accept returns.
this feature is good if you buy from overseas sellers ,it is cheaper to return item to paypal ca headqyarter than say china/

Great..... I don't trust anything Paypal guarantees...
But.... It could work out for selling defective merchandise or factory seconds.
You buy a non working $900 laptop computer and re-sell it to Paypal for $900......
Ops... Darn, my account is negative $365.77 because paypal reversed a funds payment after my buyer received their item which assisted a Paypal account to be used for mail fraud.
Maybe under today’s system, they could have kept my item, received their funds back and then sold the unit to paypal claiming they did not like it to double their money under this new plan....
So buyers can now order merchandise, keep it after they receive it, File a reversal of funds for "seller non-protection" and get their funds back and then sell the item back to Paypal under the guarantee..
hummmmmmm....
They could double their money rather then just having Paypal help them pull a tiny scam.
Nice job Paypal... Are you going to still charge the seller to take those funds ???????

they said not every seller is invited to offer this feature,so they could be targeting sellers with no past history of buyer complaints and high ebay feedback.
most buyers are honest,as for a few bad apples, they can do only do it a few times and they will lose this privilege.
do you ever read your homeowner policy,if you file 3 claims in 3 years, your policy will not be renewed????

Careful, You will confuse poor ole kkaaz with facts.
Buyer requirements. Each account may only file a maximum of 3 Guarantee reimbursement requests in a given twelve-month period. PayPal reserves the right not to offer the Guarantee to specific buyers if any prior reimbursement requests have been denied.

"PayPal may take additional criteria into account in deciding whether to offer the Money Back Guarantee on a particular transaction. "
Of course, these criteria aren't listed anywhere in the terms- which basically means this lone sentance is PayPonzi's "Wild Card" to deny any "guarantee" for any reason they see fit.
No problem. We'll just take the dollar from 99% of the sales that go through no problem, and tell the one or two frauds "you should have known better..."
