As we know, PayPal is just one way of paying for auctions, or sending money to another person, but what are some of the other options out there. We all know about billpoint (it could disappear when or if the sale of PayPal goes through) and Yahoo PayDirect. What are some of the other third party payment processors that you know about.

Lets try not to make this thread into a bash PayPal thread, I know that I have done in the past (I have my own reasons), but lets look for some real alternatives that will do the same thing that PayPal does

there are aol cash,c2it,bidpay (auction only),propay, amzn one click.
yes,you can use amzn one click in your shop, the rate is 15%.
i use propay at 35 cents per transaction and 3.5 % discount in lieu of merchant account.
it has worked quite well for me,the rate may be high but there is no fixed monthly fee.
i hope billpoint will be around for xmas,as sometimes when a charge does not go thru with propay,it went thru at billpoint and vice versa.

I have accounts with all of those, and with the exception of the RARE (not even 1 a month) Bidpay payment, have NEVER had a customer use them.

Their problem? Buyers don't use them.

The one thing I do like about ProPay is the ability to manually charge a card. It limits the amount of fraud out there since I have to do the Manual charge and address verification.

Here's a large list, many I've never even looked at.
------------
Here's some I have or had accounts with:

exchangepath.com (closed)
payplace.com (closed)
payme.com (closed)
emoneymail.com (recently closed)
moneyzap.com (no longer accepting credit cards)
billpoint.com (good but buggy and the fat lady is singing their obituary.)
yahoo.paydirect.com (works okay, few features)
c2it.com (slower than molasses, very buggy, processes payments as quasi-cash transactions)
ProPay.com (expensive)
neteller.com (I was drunk when I signed up, never used it)
------------

These I've looked at but didn't try:

paymate.com (looks okay)
ecount.com (been around a long time)
capital-imts.com (wouldn't touch em with a 10ft pole)
paydollar.cc (wouldn't touch em with a 10ft pole)
anypay.com (wouldn't touch em with a 10ft pole)
ccnow.com (very expensive)
firepay.com (not comfortable with this one)
paybox.com (I don't understand)
pakipay.com (not in this lifetime)
e-gold.com (LMAO!!! Never been drunk enough to do that!)
------------

Takes two to tango, the service has to be acceptable to the seller and the buyer. Good luck.

i think CCNOW is no longer in business.
bidpay is good for intl bidders.
we also need to take into consideration - the chargeback fee,it can vary from 10 to 35 dollars.
there is also the USPS,it is really money transfer from buyer bank account to seller bank account after the package dc has been swiped at destination post office.

I prefer sticking a wad of money on the end of a string tied to a ballon and sending it down wind. That offers the same "protection" Paypal offers to me as a buyer.

And as a seller, I preffer an hand written IOU to a paypal payment. No IOU has ever frozen my own money before. I can not say the same for Paypal.

Which is it?

Did you just skip over the second paragraph in the first post or not understand it?

ccnow.com is still in operation. They are very expensive (9% U.S. rate, 11% international rate), but they do allow a lot of international sellers that would have a tough time using any other method.

uaru

I pointed out a good alternative to paypal from a seller and a buyers point of view.

Either way, Paypal is a poor service.

You simply continued your same old routine of behaving like a child, it is real tiresome. If you have any other method of behavior it would be a real treat to see it.

kkaaz,

It was wrong for me to ask you to not to behave like a child. I realize my error and I apologize.

I was surprised! There was quite a list of company names through this string, but not once did I see VeriSign on there any where. They are integrated with AuctionWatch Storefronts, you can manually process payments and it really is very cool.

This is from a page at auctionwatch.

With VeriSign and AuctionWatch, you can securely and automatically accept and process your customers' credit card payments online.

VeriSign is a payment "gateway" service and AuctionWatch's valued partner for credit card processing. Our relationship with VeriSign allows you to process credit cards through one of the most respected providers of payment and trust services on the Internet at extremely competitive rates we have secured for you.

Additional Benefits of a Merchant Bank Account:

Payment is faster - funds are automatically deposited directly to your checking account.
Merchandise receipt is faster for your customers - they get instant notification that payment has been accepted.
Build your business credit history - your business' credit worthiness increases.
Enhance your company's image - your customers' trust in your business increases.
Improve your cash flow - your funds are automatically deposited into your account after purchase.

It is an easy 3-step process. Get set up and paid online today!
Step 1: Open an Online Merchant Account
Step 2: Apply for a VeriSign Account
Step 3: Update your AuctionWatch Account

I don't see Payingfast.com on that list. Not that I've had any takers yet, but they did give me $5 for signing up with only 2 little hoops to jump through to get it.
