is there any other employees at Paypal except for Damon who work ?

Do they ever do anything besides hang up on callers and fail to reply to e-mails ?

Yes.

Yes. They only hang up on those who are rude, incosiderate, obnixous and argumentative.

I have heard of several times where they hung up on people who asked why they couldn't speak to a supervisor.

Every case I have ever heard of they only hung up on those who are rude, incosiderate, obnixous and argumentative and in some cases threatening... No telephone emoplyee should have to take verbal abuse.

So you DO work there, Coonr....

NO REPUTABLE Company, in its right mind, EVER lets it known that a customer was hung up on, REGARDLESS of the reason. Making it KNOWN by an employee that employees have hung up on people is cause for termination of that employee. It is also a cause for customer action. Customer Service is just that, customer SERVICE. Not customer service unless I don't like your attitude

You should stop listening to the conversations in adjoining cubicles.

[I have heard of several times where they hung up on people who asked why they couldn't speak to a supervisor.]

That is true. I have called up and asked for a supervisor without even saying my name or telling them why, they refused and said they don't have to transfer me and then hung up.

I have also received e-mails from other supporting that claim.

At least 1 out of 10 customers service calls are upset users. Most people don't call to give praise, they call to get something solved. I work in Tech support services with dumb people calling or coming in all the time. My job is to help them understand what they don't understand. Sure they get upset, Sure they can get rude, but they are upset at the company or item or manual and not you. Unless you are a small petty person, or you live with a blow up doll and pretend they are a real person and take picture on vacation, you don't let someone venting cause you to hang up or refuse to allow them to speak to a supervisor.

It's my job to help them until they start swearing or threatens me. Until then, I do what ever it takes to make sure I can help them or transfer them to someone who can.

If someone asks for my supervisor, unless I am guilty of not doing my job, I transfer them.

Maybe that's the problem with Paypal. Their phone service reps can't do their jobs so they hang up rather then getting reported.

I have NEVER been allowed to speak to a Paypal supervisor. when my account was frozen for no reason, Paypal was rude and unhelpful. They have never been helpful.

I have called Paypal maybe 10 times and they have ALWAYS been rude.

They have NEVER done anything worth praise for me and I used them for about 2 years and transferred thousands and thousands of dollars.

[Ok.... and all with a feedback of 93 on eBay. ]

Yea. That's because I don't sell $5 trinkets for a $1 profit and pay paypal half that to use their service and claim to be a big time seller.

I dont sell anything for under $20 and most range between $100 and $1000. I leave the flee market stuff for my local 99 cents stores to sell.

And when I buy, my items range in the $20 to $500 which makes it very easy to transfer thosands of dollars.

And my 93 feeback is all but perfect as well as my Yahoo perfect feedback. I don't have any negitives from any buyers.

so keep talking big guy.....

Point is, compared to most, despite your claims to the contrary, you have NO EXPERIENCE. Your efforts to demean others did not work on eBay and they wont work here. Facts are I do more auctions in one week than you have done in the past year. I do more volumn in one week, than you have done in the past year.

Furthermore, anyone who takes the advice of someone who cannot manage their own affairs (like you) deserves what they get.

Like I said. I leave the 99 cents store to sell stuff I don't bother with. I donate most of my junk or throw it away if I can't at least get $20 for it.

[I do more volumn in one week, than you have done in the past year]

WOW... 5.99 items !!! Big baller !!!

Lets see. Who is wiser.

The used car salesman who sells 1000 junkers for $10 each over a term of 3 years for $1000 profit.

or the car saleman who sells 100 cars for $100 each over a term of 1 year for a $1000 profit.

You need to take buisness 101 again if you think you are a big timer....

Point is, you have no experience in the last six months to offer anyone advice.

You have no idea, what or how much I sell. You are only familair with one seller ID.

You bring this up time after time after time on every board where you need a quick stab or are loosing an argument.

I have more than twice your feedback and with less negatives. Do I need to bring that up to try an make everyone think your a nobody. Cause based on what you post that would be a true statement then.

You need to drop that arguement.

Jim

P.S. You should be glad eBay dropped the Power Seller requirements cause it looks like you would be missing out if they had not.

Jim,

Point is, someone who admits (today) they have not used PayPal in over 6 months, should not be misleading others, about how it functions today. He mentioned experience to try and put me down. I mention my experience for no other reason. I do not see you here grinding an ax with PayPal, and deliberately (or thru ignorance) mislead them. I know you do not like PayPal, and even know of at least one of your user IDs you use to post against PayPal.

I am in good standing as a power seller, and always have been, even without the change in requirements, and even considering, I took off for 3 weeks in Aug. and another week in Sept.

If a PayPal rep were to refuse to transfer a customer to a supervisor, and then the customer hears a dialtone, I don't think it would usually be the fault of the phone.

Based on my experience with PayPal's customer service, I would suspect it was. This is excluding the rude, obnixous, and threatening customer, in which case they would deserve to be hung up on.

I'm tired of hearing about how customer service people don't have to put up with difficult people. Most people only become difficult after having a experiencing an unresolved problem. Paypal, Damon and a few others on this board should take a class or two on customer service. Here's an example of one:

http://www.amanet.org/seminars/cmd2/outlines/5165_outline.htm

Most classes/seminars have a separate section on handling difficult customers. Hanging up because they are "rude, incosiderate, obnixous and argumentative" is no way to run any customer focused organization. A person that is emotional due to a problem, will also be likely to be passionate about how great a product is. Too bad Paypal hasn't learned that!

...before you arguments were "fair" now you seems to acuse everyone of being "stupid" who cannot see "your" side of an argument....

Who have I accused of being "stupid'?

you sound like a very frustrated man/woman...perhaps sexually?

No frustrations or worries of ANY type. But thanks for your concern.

Hello,

I am sad to see that everyone has so many bad things to say about PayPal. I am curious to know what kind of account do you have (business? premuim? personal?) along with what kind of volume you do in a month.

I have a business account - yes I have had some problems but nothing that was taken care of promptly. PayPal security even calls me if there are high dollar charges or many charges of the same amount - to have me verify these charges. They have helped me dispute charges, sent me extra cards when I had a proble, and they have even given me a personal account rep - who takes care of my account and about 50 others. I have heard alot of bad things about paypal - but i have experienced 99% good things.

I will say this, if you don't like PayPal go with someone else. I gaurantee that you won't get a overall better service.

Cheers,
McNeely's Depot

Get a merchant account with CardServices International. You're a lot safer with them, and it's a lot cheaper.

Beware of Paypal employees posting on these message boards!
