My annual plan was due to expire on the 14th. On the 13th. I decided to go with a monthly plan. My understanding was that the new monthly plan was to become effective on the 14th.
I then launched several auctions on the 13th. expecting to be charged just the .05.
My account was charged the .20 rate PLUS
an additional pro-rated amount which looks like for just one day. If my facts are correct I expect a refund for the amount in question.

Hi jalleniii,
Your account has been charged correctly. You were charged 1 day for the old plan, the total amount for the upcoming month for your new plan, and .20 pre listing. This is all correct.

That is what I assumed had happened. HOWEVER, my point is that my OLD contract should have applied until my expiration date. What AW did was charge me the higher listing fee and then pro-rated my account.
It was my decision to implement a change, due only to AW once again changing their pricing policies. I expect a refund for the difference of my existing contract versus the FORCED contract change that AW implemented.

Hi jalleniii,
Thanks for your patience. I didn't see this message until today.
I apologize if our messaging related to plan changes wasn't clear. We tried to state as clearly as possible that plan changes take effect immediately and that sellers should enjoy their current plans through the duration of the year, since we didn't design our system to accept pre-expiration plan selections.
Our fees policy states that plan changes are active immediately, and we tried to discourage any early plan adoption by in our e-mail correspondence. Our letter started,
"Dear userid,
Your AuctionWatch annual subscription will expire on Day, Date, 2002. We are offering a special discount price if you select our new annual listing only plan within 15 days after your current plan expires. This note describes the offer and outlines the process for signing up for all AuctionWatch plans.
NOTE: ALTHOUGH YOU MAY WANT TO SELECT A NEW PLAN TODAY, YOU DO NOT NEED TO TAKE ANY ACTION UNTIL YOUR CURRENT ANNUAL POWER PLAN EXPIRES. WE WILL SEND ANOTHER E-MAIL TO YOU ON THE DAY YOUR CURRENT POWER PLAN EXPIRES REMINDING YOU TO SELECT A NEW PLAN. YOUR NEW PLAN WILL START ON THE DAY YOU SELECT IT AND ANY REMAINING DAYS ON YOUR CURRENT ANNUAL POWER PLAN ARE NON-REFUNDABLE."
The second paragraph was in all caps in the original e-mail and isn't specially highlighted here. I apologize if our message wasn't written clearly enough. I'll work with our product development staff to see if any changes would help prevent future instances of pre-expiration plan selections.
In the meantime, I feel badly that this happened to you. Please send me an e-mail with the particulars of your auction activity after plan selection, and we'll work something out for you, ok?
That would explain much. I looked at your online statement, and it appears 28 auctions were affected. I can make the appropriate adjustment if you can confirm that is the right number of auctions to adjust. I apologize you didn't receive the e-mail. I know they are being sent, but that certainly doesn't guarantee delivery in all cases, unfortunately. Let me know, and I'll make the correction.
