Look at these listing numbers from TAG:

Sept 15-265,155
Sept 19-448,829 [Free listing day]
Oct 15-268,023
Nov 07-258,791
Nov 28-262,841
Jan 06-218,717

When will they realize people are willing to pay a larger FVF for free insertion fees?

Yahoo Auctions can never touch ebay auctions but they can easily take on ebay's Half.com unit.

Scenario: Ebay's half has zero listing fees plus a 15% FVF ( Amazon has free 30 day listings and a 99 cent selling fee plus a 15% FVF )

Scenario: Yahoo Auctions comes up with a free listing fee and an 8% or 10% FVF.

Bingo. The 5% or 7% decrease in the FVF over Half's would be worth the hassle of collecting the money and some deadbeats.

Doesnt half.com restrict sellers from placing advertisements in the shipment? I think a flat 10% fee is more than fair. I would keep the picture hosting, BIN, etc free. Make it mandatory that each auction starts at $1.00, and ban advertisments, recipe, and coupon auctions. Also put into place a NPB system like ebays. YSM is much easier to use than turbo lister. If they dont go to this setup the auctions will be gone this year. I have never seen the listings this low.

It seems so simple to us yet the Yahoo management misses it. Incredible.

Tooltimes, when the listings drop to 0 then they will take notice. I look for them to have a FLD each quarter to impress their stockholders. They better think of having one everyday.
