Yahoo Auctions needs a FLD very badly! On the plus side the Yahoo auction items are all prominently displayed near the top of the Froogle search results.

FLD! FLD! FLD!

Where do we get to vote for this???

The last one was in Jan or Feb. It really ought to be about time again.

They need to do something. The only hope for Yahoo auctions is if atleast 40% of the Ebay sellers switch to Yahoo. I dont see that happening. Nobody wants to go a month without getting payed. Although if they did make that sacrifice it would deffinetely pay off in the long term. 5% FVF + the outragious listing fees are just rediculous.

If there ever is an Yahoo Auctions FLD it will be announced at this link

http://auctions.yahoo.com/phtml/auc/us/promo/announcements.html

It might be too late for Yahoo Auctions and Yahoo in general. Those stupid TV ads with a talking dolphin in a lagoon show how incredibly out-of-touch-with-reality the Yahoo management truly is.

I haven't seen it. But then I've never seen a Yahoo commercial that DID make any sense.

The cutsey trendiness of the early web is over. They need to advetise tangible benefits of using their service (Like selection & prices).

I'll also add that Yahoo's advertising has never, and probably will NEVER grow beyond that yodeling guy. It was funny once. Move on.

Yahhhooo-oooo-ooooo!

Here in the Silicon Valley there are Yahoo TV ads on all the time. They are all non-sensical. There are taxi cabs painted purple and yellow that say Yahoo and many regular cards painted that way too. The people in the Silicon Valley know what Yahoo is --- it's the farmers in Fargo or Duluth that need to learn about Yahoo.

Well, we can say at least that farmers in Wisconsin have heard plenty about it

It's just that it sadly seems to be a waste of time for the most part. Yahoo's maps are rated only middling, their search isn't that great, their personals are even worse than their auctions! It's almost as if their game plan is "Yahoo - #2 for everything. We do everything anyone tries, just not quite as well."

The only hope for Yahoo auctions is if at least 40% of the Ebay sellers switch to Yahoo.

Why in Gods name would that happen?

Why would sellers who are selling, put their items on a dead site?

Yahoo was doing as good as it could when it was free!

Now that they are charging,It's worse!

There is absolutely no incentive to list there now!

They may have done well if they started with an FVF!

But they commited suicide, so why should sellers who are making money!

Pay them, and list on their site! To help them get back in the Game?

They have nothing to offer the sellers!

They are out for themselves and no one else!

So why should we the sellers and payers bail them out!!!

I think the Yahoo Stores are what is messing up the Yahoo auctions. If the auctions were to be too good of a deal then the stores would lose out as sellers leave their store and put stuff on the Yahoo auctions. Yahoo might as well concede defeat and pull the plug on the auctions.
I see nothing wrong with a free listing format and a 10% FVF but Yahoo must be afraid it would lose too many of it's stores.

Yahoo was once a company know for innovation and taking a chance but now they are very conservation and afraid to do anything at all.

Yahoo auctions has only itself to blame. We tried and tried to tell them but we were just ignored.
Now it is most likely to late to save Yahoo auctions.
They have following the same pattern as Amazon.com auctions.
