my sales at Ebay are awful at the moment. I decided to give YAHOO auctions a try since it is totally FREE right now.

I found listing items to be a bit difficult. I had to repeatedly enter the default information (shipping charges, etc) even though I checked off the box for SAVE THIS INFORMATION.

I also wanted to use their bulk loader; but couldn't find enough information on it. Do they have a template for the bulk loader spreadsheet somewhere with DETAILED instructions?

I have spent hours and hours just trying to sign up and now have to call them today. They make it really hard with no links to give them the info they need.

The best way to list with Yahoo is by a .csv file using the bulk loader. (I've never had a problem)

Then for the future, the .csv file is easy to edit for later listings.

I am listing again on Yahoo – I have not listed there since 2002, and I have not had any real problem. IN ADDITION, my eBay templates drop right in.

Occasionally, I encounter a glitch, but I found such, once in a while in the old Yahoo, but back then, it was worth the few glitches. Moreover, since I can set the time for the auction to begin, I can stop when a glitch starts occurring, and return later, and still list the auction at the time I want it to start.

I am just starting to build up my inventory at Yahoo. I hope to keep an average of 125 to 150 Auctions running all the time. I think that was about the amount I kept up at the Old "Free" Yahoo, and found it quite successful for us.

I am sure that Yahoo is currently being over run with new sellers trying the switch from Yahoo to Ebay - many not understanding that Yahoo HAS NEVER worked or sold as fast as eBay. Such slowness will probably eliminate a great deal of the newbie sellers to Yahoo, as they lose patience with the slow sell rate.

I use the same prices on both Yahoo and eBay, and as far as that goes on any other auction I might post on.

IF Yahoo now leaves their "Free" set up alone, and the fact that an eBay template will easily drop in, then in time I can foresee their having the selling strength that they once had 3 years ago.

With Yahoo selling, particularly in this slow season, patience is definitely a major secret. It is slow on eBay too, and at our major web sites....just that time of year and those of us who have been doing this for years, realize it, accept it, and use this time to upgrade auction presentations, sell off slow moving product at real sale prices, etc.

We have already had a sold item on Yahoo, paid for and shipped.

From our prior experience on Yahoo, we did not expect miracles over night.

REALIZE THAT ALTHOUGH WE SELLERS MAY HAVE HEARD AND REALIZED WHAT YAHOO GOING FREE AGAIN MEANT, it will take buyer a while to rediscover Yahoo -

Most of us are creatures of habit, and most eBay buyers go to eBay because that is what they are use to doing. It will take a while, and spreading the word to your customers that you are now posting on Yahoo, to get the word out about Yahoo.

Yahoo being FREE to post means nothing to a buyer - it should, but most likely, it does not, so it will take publicizing any way you can to get the word to sellers regarding the re-newed Yahoo.

posting auctions on YAHOO difficult!

I must totally disagree with this statement. Ebay is the difficult one. With Yahoo, everything is posted right on the same page. With ebay, you have endless pages of garbage to go through just to list a simple auction. I can list three items at Yahoo in the time that it takes to list just one item at Ebay. And end of auction notices are much, much better. With Yahoo, you get only the information you need with a proper link to the person's e-mail address. With Ebay, you get all kinds of worthless information that you need to sift through just to get the basic information you need, plus stupid annoying links in e-mail that you have to erase just to make a basic contact with your buyer.
