This cute pitcher is in very good condition for its age. It does have some little overall crazing and there are some flakes from the glaze on the rim and spout. There is no pottery missing in those places, just glaze. There is also a flake ff of one side of the applied handle. There are no cracks at all and when flicked with your fingernail this piece rings nicely. It is my understanding that this is a piece of early Shenandoah or Cumberland valley pottery. If this is incorrect I would really appreciate an email. It looks Staffordshire to me but someone ore knowledgeable than myself assured me that it was Shenandoah yelloware pottery. This piece stands 2 3 1/4" from the tip of the spout to the outer edge of the handle and 1 5/8" across the bottom.This piece has four embossed figures going around the bottom. They are what appear to be a girl, a dog, a castle and a bird. My photographs show this piece lighter than it is in person as I had to use my flash. If anyone out there knows anything about this piece I would really appreciate an email. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
