This pretty nedle case is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, melts or repairs. I can only see a few light scratches from very gentle use. All of the pretty red coloring in the carving is present and vivid. I was told this was Bakelite but it does not test positive with Simichrome polish. Maybe it is French Bakelite. It is the right weight and has no seams. It smells really sweet so maybe at one time someone had a vial of perfume inside. It has the string attached with a tea colored plastic bead. I am pretty sure that it had two originally but one is now gone. This piece is 3 1/8" long and 5/8" wide. Its threads are in fine, smooth working order and there is no trouble lining them up and opening and closing it. The place where the top and bottom meet after having been screwed together becomes invisible. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
