This unusual box is the only one I have ever had that is made of both Celluloid and Bakelite. It is made of three different colors plus has a glitter top. I guess some would refer to it as confetti but the gold flecks inside are like regular, little glitter. That panel of glitter plastic I believe to be Celluloid. It is applied to a teal colored sheet of Bakelite. I tested it to be positive with Simichrome polish three times in different places. The main portion of the box is sort of a semi-translucent forest green. It looks like and is thick like Bakelite but did not test positive. The bottom is the goldish color of Celluloid that you sometimes see as trim on some of the old dresser sets of that era. I believe this is probably from the 1930's. I also think there was a little shelf in it at one time as there are racks inside that would have held one. The inside lid has damage to the celluloid strip on the left. I suppose at one time some sort of chemical got on it there and deteriorated it. This box is 7 5/16" by 4 5/8" across at the lid and is 2 1/4" tall with the lid shut. There are no makers marks on it anywhere so I do not know what company produced it. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
