This nice old Scottie dog pin is in great condition with no chips, cracks or missing paint. I do not think it was worn much. It is of good size measuring 3 1/4" tall, 2 1/2" wide from the tip of the nose to the outer edge of the tail and 5/16" thick. The pin on the back appears to be original, is securely attached and has a basic "C" clasp which is in fine working condition. Pins that were this exact shape were also made in Bakelite. Photographs of them are in almost all of the reference books about vintage plastic.jewelry. I believe this is from the 1930's or early 1940's.
