The Ford Motor Company develpoed the SEEP 'seagoing jeep' from components of the Ford GPW 1/4 ton 4x4 jeep. Combined with an amphibious hull similar to that designed for the 2 1/2 DUKW amphibious truck. The GPA was produced by Ford during World War II 1942-1943.It did not recive favourable reviews as it proved cumbersome on land and lacked sufficient seagoing abilities on open waters

WW2 US DUKW Amphibian Vehicle The DUKW (popularly pronounced "duck") is a six-wheel-drive truck that was designed by General Motors Corporation during World War II for transporting goods and troops over land and water and for use approaching and crossing beaches in amphibious attacks .Used in landings in the Mediterranean, Pacific, on the D-Day beaches of Normandy, Operation Husky, Operation Market Garden in Holland, also during Operation Plunder, and in Vietnam
