RAF COASTAL COMMAND FLYING BOATS FILM
SPECIAL ARCHIVE DVD WITH RARE FOOTAGE
This original era b&w film illustrates the work of RAF Coastal Command. featuring Shorts Sunderland and PBY Catalina flying boats during the Battle of the Atlantic. It includes real footage of attacks on enemy shipping. Also dramatic footage of aircraft such as the Bristol Beaugfighter, Lockheed Hudson and Halifax bombers. You will see a sea patrol, in which a Sunderland flying boat flies over a convoy and bombs a German U-boat.
All footage is real and a superb first hand account of life in this arena.
Another later era original film is also included, featuring the Sunderland on a vital mission to a remote Arctic location in North Greenland (operation icelift)
