Kutani Japanese hand-painted vase.
There is a Kutani mark as well as a CPO (Central Purchasing Office) mark. This mark indicates Occupied Japan, 1947-1952.
This vase was purchased in Japan and brought back to the US, probably by a serviceman or woman.
The exquisite detailing of the painting features pheasants and perhaps a blooming Cherry tree.
The flowers over the cross-hatch lattice below the rim are Chrysanthemums.
Note the intricate outlining of the features with gold trim.
The background is crackle glaze. 9 1/2" Height x 4 1/4" Diameter DS #4233-22
There is a very innocuous repair to the foot of the vase (see red dot). Otherwise vase is in Excellent Condition, no chips or cracks.
