This is Hand Forged Bulgarian wolf trap used in the end of 19 century.The trap is in perfect working condition.The mechanism is very simple but very effective!The trap is charging very easy when you step on the handle and catch the hook into left fastener.Food was used as a bait especially meat , as we know wolves are flesh eating animal.This trap was used in the past to prevent wolf attacks on domestic bulgarian animal such as sheep.
There are two stamps on the trap that look like a some kind of a flower (see pictures)
