Description. Greater celandine has a long history of herbal use. Traditionally it was employed as an ophthalmic to improve and clear the eyesight whilst in modern herbal medicine it is used more as a mild sedative, antispasmodic and detoxifying herb, relaxing the muscles of the bronchial tubes, intestines and other organs. Greater celandine acts as a mild sedative which has been used historically to treat asthma, bronchitis, and whooping cough. The herb's antispasmodic effect improves bile flow in the gallbladder and has been reputed to treat gallstones and gallbladder pain.

Use. Celandine has also traditionally been used as a topical preparation for warts. The effect of the herb is of a mild analgesic, cholagogic, antimicrobial, oncostatic and central nervous system sedative. An immune stimulating effect has also been noted. The plant has anticancer properties and is analgesic. It is an important component of a stomach ulcer drug. In many countries celandine is considered to be helpful for flu, tonsillitis (as gargle#, female genital illnesses #as syringing#, intestinal illnesses #as clysters), hemorrhoids, eczema and others.

Описание. Русское название чистотел получил благодаря своим свойствам исцелять различные заболевания кожи. В связи со способностью выводить бородавки, чистотел в простонародье еще называют бородавником. Полезен при наружных и внутренних болезнях. Чистотел содержит aлкaлоиды, флaвoноиды, сапонuны, витамuн A, acкopбuнoвую кислоту, эфupныe мacлa, opгaнuческие кислоты. По данным проведенных медицинских исследований, основными свойствами чистотела являются спазмолитические, желчегонные и противовоспалительные (бактерицидные).

Применение. Чистотел помогает при гипертонии, астме, белокровии, лимотозе, лейкозе, атеросклерозе, пищевом отравлении желудка, гриппе, мягких опухолях, геморройе, гастрите, зобе, подагре, ревматизме, язве желудочно-кишечного тракта, при проблемах печени, желчного пузыря, почек и сердечной мышцы.
Подагра, ревматизм.  - Мазать больное место и пить настой чистотела.
Грипп. -- Полоскать пятикратно рот и носоглотку и пить 1/2 стакана настоя.
Женские болезни. -- 500 мл настоя спринцевать 2 раза в день (утром и вечером).
Кишечные заболевания. -- Ставить клизму, задерживая ее внутри до 40 мин. (1 стакан заварки на 1 клизму).
