This tincture contains the leaves of eucalyptus trees in a solution of 70%
alcohol. Eucalyptus is prescribed for internal use as an anti-inflammatory and
antiseptic agent, and can work against microorganism and as an antifungal agent.
In addition eucalyptus works well against inflammatory diseases of the upper
respiratory system such as bronchitis and laryngitis, and has expectorant
properties, often used for skin disorders and irritations. Eucalyptus helps
maintain a healthy heart, alleviates angina, and acts as a weak sedative on the
central nervous system. This tincture can also be used for diseases of the mouth
such as gum infections and other tooth ailments. Recommended dosage: Dilute 15
to 30 drops in warm water 3 times daily. The course depends upon the ailment and
usually lasts 3 - 5 days. Eucalyptus can also be added to water for steam
inhalation, or to create steam in saunas.
