Dept of Defense Iraq Country Handbook/Transitional Handbook. December 2003. These were given to military/DOD Personnel to familiarize them with local customs and area knowledge. Basic reference information on Iraq, including its geography, history, government, military forces, communications and transportation networks and more is given. Appendices include sections covering weapons recognition, IED's, Arabic road signs, identification card guide, etc.. Book was published under the auspices of the US Dept. of Defense Intelligence Production Program (DoDIPP) with the Marine Corps Intelligence Activity designated as the community coordinator for the Country Handbook Program.

Due to the current policy of the Dept of Defense in regards to Iraq (Operation New Dawn), this handbook will not be published again for the US Armed Forces. Approximately 300 pages.
