Spode Hand Painted Porcelain Flowered Round Dish Pattern 3500 Rare 1821 Mark
Offered for sale is this floral hand painted round dish, from Spode, hand painted in the high quality scattered floral sprays that were so fashionable in the first quarter of the 19th century. The dish also has embossed flowers. The dish is marked with the rare Spode Felspar Porcelain 1821 and has the pattern number 3500. Spode only used this mark in 1821, removing the date in subsequent years. The dish also has a foil label from the antiques department of Shreve Crump & Low in Boston. Today, Shreve Crump & Low is known as a jewelry and wedding gift store, but in the middle of the 20th century it was quite fashionable for high-end retailers to have their own antiques department.
The dish measures 7 1/2 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches tall. It weighs 10 oz (shipping weight 1 lb).
Condition: The dish is in excellent condition. There is one tiny firing crack on the rim, as shown. This is original to manufacture.
Shipping is by the methods listed in the shipping calculator.
Please note: we have a matching teacups in this pattern, as well as some very similar Spode pieces, also from the early 19th century.
