David Manje
David Manje was born in Bisbee, Arizona in 1950. He attended Arizona State University, University of Arizona and Cochise College earning BFA a degree in Printmaking. He also holds an elementary and secondary art education degree from Arizona State University.
David's first six years of art instruction were in the public schools. While working in a local printmaking facility producing monotype prints, he became the studio art instructor at the Mesa Arts Center. There, for over 22 years before retiring, he offered a wide range of visual arts classes that included drawing, pastel, airbrush, watercolor and oil painting. He supervised a visual arts staff that allowed him to also instruct printmaking where many techniques were taught. Currently he teaches at the Mesa Community College and paints full time out of his studio.
David has taken part in many exhibitions, including Year of the Indian Exhibit, Fruitlands Museum, Harvard, Massachusetts and "The Prints and the Paper" International Juried Exhibition, San Diego Art Institute, San Diego, California. David has produced his own work for many years and has had local, national, and international gallery representation. He has exhibited and had gallery representation in local Scottsdale galleries for over fifteen years. His art is in several collections, including Ford Corporation, Lima Ohio, University of Arizona, Mobil Oil Research, Paulsboro New Jersey and Motorola, Chicago, Illinois.
