~About This Image~

Although best known today for his pieces depicting the Native American, Texas artist Martin Grelle is one of the youngest members of the Cowboy Artists of America (CAA). He enjoys the CA trail ride each year and also works herds just for the experience - and fun - around his Clifton, Texas, home. This piece is near and dear to his heart - an active cowboy "doing his thing". 

Martin Grelle lives with his family just a few miles from where he was born in Texas. Rich in beauty and history, the area has become a mecca for artists. It is one reason why this artist spent his whole life there. Grelle's work reaches far beyond his Texas home conveying the spirit, drama, beauty and vastness of the American West. He enjoys the Cowboy Artists of America's trail ride each year, and manages to spend some time occasionally working cattle with local friends. He is proud of the Native American part of his ancestry and studies diligently to portray their culture accurately and sensitively.
