Antique Sadie Harper Autograph Book Album MANY Original Hand Written Poems &
Wishes.
This
lovely Album belonged to Sadie Harper from New Boncord, Ohio
Most
pages are written on. Some pages contain several autograps and wishes.
Sady
wend to Muskingum College and may signatures and well wishes are from
those days spend there.
There
are autographs belonging to Alida Warren, Frank Martin, A.W. Rutterford, Ettie
Makey, Jas. S barnes & Frank Murak to just name a few.
There
is minor wear to the leather cover as shown. The binding is still intact and as
far as I can see there are no pages missing.
I
have only 12 pictures and can only show a small sample of what is
included.

book measures approx 7" x 4.25"

Wikipedia: The university was founded in 1837. In 1827, the National
Road (now U.S. 40) was laid through what is now New Concord, roughly
following what had been the primitive roadway known as Zane's
Trace. A year later, the village of New
Concord, Ohio was established by Scotch-Irish Presbyterians.
On July 9, 1836, the first recorded meeting of the "Friends of
Education" in New Concord, led by New Concord residents Samuel
Willson and Benjamin Waddle, was held. A year later, the Ohio General Assembly authorized the
creation of a college in New
Concord, OH after being petitioned by the "Friends of
Education" committee. On April 24, 1837, Muskingum College opened.
Muskingum became a coeducational institution in 1854
