Antique Black Forest Wood Carved Crucifix Corpus Jesus Christ 19th. C

The details on this antique cross are exceptional.

This outstanding antique altar crucifix is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen!

Carved by hand out of wood, there are several Christian symbols surrounding the cross, including the instruments of torture, the spears and a ladder.

The corpus of Christ was made in a silver metal.  

The wood has been split and repaired over the years. Central heating and air-conditioning can be hard on these Antique pieces. Also the hole where the cross fits in the base is a little too big. This is easy to fix by putting in a small wedge. Last, one of the leafs just above the base on the side is missing a small part.

The total height is 17".

My position as dealer is very compatible I have to keep my prices low as possible. There is not that much room for negotiation.
