James W. Forsyth served on the Staff of Gen. McClellan during the Peninsular
& Maryland Campaigns. Brevet Major @ Chickamauga & Sheridan's
Chief of Staff, 1864-65. Forsyth also served under Sheridan at various times
and in numerous locations until the Generals death in 1888.
