Vanilla Planifolia - 'Vanilla Orchid' Description This auction is for one Vanilla Planifolia - 'Vanilla Orchid'. Vanilla planifolia is a species of vanilla orchid. It is native to Mexico, and is one of the primary sources for vanilla flavoring, due to its high vanillin content. This is the plant typically used for commercial Vanilla production. Cultivation Vanilla orchid thrives as an indoor plant and is easy to grow.  It should be transplanted into well draining soil and kept moist. It preferes area with light shade or filtered light. Vanilla will do best in high humidity. These 3" plants come in 2.5" x 2.5" x 3.5" deep pots. Shipping All orders will be shipped on Monday or Tuesday. This will insure that your plants arrive in good condition without spending a weekend in the post office.
