Vintage Drug Store Sign Phoebus Virginia – 6 foot long – Circa early 20^th century

Double sided, wooden (pine), gold-gilt lettering against a dark sand-painted background. The outside 3/8 inch border is gilt.

73 x 12 x 1 inches. 15 pounds.

Slight flaking to the painted surfaces. The eye-hooks were replaced forty years ago.

This sign was removed from Kearney’s Drug Store at the corner of Mellen and Mallory streets in Phoebus in the early 1970s.

Kearney’s Drugstore opened in the early 1900s.

The town of Phoebus (now Hampton, Virginia) is located near Old Point Comfort and Fortress Monroe.
