corner). Bronzed finished Plaque inset with Maxfield Parrish’s Cleopatra print.
Finished on both sides with hanger.
Minor edge abrasions with the lower front 1/8 inch
ridge loss. Occasional minor fleck to the print. (See Photos). There is minor
over painting around the print but it seems to be consistent with the technique
used on the Crane candy boxes. Overall very good condition.
This style of bronzed gesso (plaster over wood) is
found on Crane's Candy boxes circa 1917. Possibly used as a store display. Art Nouveau / Art Deco / Arts & Crafts Style.
