257,(5),223 pages. Illustrated. Half calf, marbled boards. The 19th century binding is rubbed, extremities worn with one inch tears at the hinges. The binding encasement is loose from the text, but it feels tight. One of the front end pages is torn with paper loss. The frontispiece to Vol one has a 1 x 2-1/2 inch tear not affecting to image or title. At page 177 v. 2 through the rear end page of vol 2 the signatures are hanging on by a thread. Leather title patch on the spine is a little chipped but handsome.
