New York. J.Q. Preble. (1855) Sterotyped by Nesmith and Teall. 96 pages. 3-1/8
inches. Red binding, blind stamped pebbled cloth, decorated in gilt. There is
minor damp-staining to one end page. All edges gilt but mostly worn off.
Inscribed in ink on the front end page, “To Sarah From Cousin James 1860.” Very
good condition.
With inserted
loose piece of paper, 2 x 3 inches, in ink: “These books were given to Sadie Bagly Bell Bradford, born July 15th 1853 by her
cousin James Wharton Edmonds, he was the son of John Wharton and Elizabeth Bell
Edmonds – a sister of Geo. W. Bell.”

pages 3-14. Pages 15-96 present. 3-1/8 inches. Red binding, blind stamped
pebbled cloth, decorated in gilt. All page edges gilt, (a.e.g.). Binding
rubbed, some loss of cloth at extremities, spine torn with cloth loss. Inner
hinge partially detached, end page detached, foxing. 1/8 inch corner chip to
the top right of the title page margin. Fair condition.

inches. Tan binding, blind stamped cloth, decorated in gilt, binding lightly
faded. A.e.g. Inscribed in ink on the front end page, “To Sarah From Cousin
James 1860.” Very good condition.
