This
is a marvelous wartime portrait of the American Commander-in-Chief,
President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. From mid-chest up and slight
right profile, President Roosevelt is set within an oval gilt frame,
his face clearly marked by the weight of awesome war time
responsibilities. At right and left sides an eagle topped staff
presents an unfurled American flag, falling down along left and right
sides. Along the entire bottom of the print a line of American
warships moves in formation. At lower right corner sky borne
aircraft are visible, the forward deck their home carrier. At the
bottom right corner is a shore artillery battery. At bottom left
corner appears “8202”.
