Hand made in our guitar shop, the waiting time for a completed instrument is 30 days.
This is a Martin style jumbo 6 string guitar that we build to order. The basic all-solid guitar has a Sitka spruce top, rosewood sides and back, ebony fretboard, classic fretboard MOP dot pattern, Gotoh tuners, BWBW purfling, herringbone rosette, scalloped spruce lX-bracing, hard maple bridgeplate, ebony bridge pins, bone nut and saddle, mahogany neck, Blood wood binding, carved Blood wood headstock, backstrip and ebony 6-pin bridge. My hand-crafted guitars are made one at a time and using old world craftsmanship and care. No two are exactly alike.
A lot of people wonder why hand-made guitars are so expensive. In reality, it takes between 110-120 hours to build a guitar and finish it. Deduct the cost of materials and the per-hour income from selling one guitar at around $3,000 is pretty dismal. Most people don't realize that as a guitar dealer I can buy a terrific sounding and well finished guitar from China for less than it would cost me for just the materials stateside. We have become a country of buyers that make nothing of their own. I make guitars for people not to get rich but because I enjoy making guitars!
Please e-mail me for a complete list of specifications and options.
Each order takes up to 30 days to build and will be shipped upon completion.
A quick word about our store:
I have been buying, fixing and selling guitars, banjos and mandolins on E-Bay for over 10 years. I have a complete repair shop which is part of my retail shop "Hot Strings Guitar Shop" in Milford, CT. A member of the Guild of American Luthiers, I also produce and sell DVDs on various aspects of guitar and banjo building and repairs. I have produced over 18 DVDs the are sold on E-Bay, Amazon dot com and by Elderly Instruments. Additionally I run a guitar building school with both day and night classes. Well aware of the frightful possibilities that crop up when purchasing a used instrument on-line, I strive to make sure any claims I may make about the instruments I sell are true and accurate. (I have bought more turkeys on e-bay than Carter has little liver pills) You can also visit my other E-Bay store, Hot Strings Guitar, and see the DVDs I produce.
You can view my repair shop in the "About me" section.
