1883 Brilliant Uncirculated Liberty Head V Nickel
without Cents Variety
A beautiful uncirculated example of the first year issue 1883 Liberty V Nickel. This particular variety was used to counterfeit $5 pieces since it did not say "cents" on it. Josh Tatum is credited (if you can call it that) with being the first to gold plate these nickels and pass them as $5 gold pieces until the mint added "cents" to the bottom of the reverse. Hence the term "Are you Joshin' me??" This is the variety without cents. A real gem. The photos are of the EXACT coins you will
