3 Piece Quadruple Serving Bowl
Circa 1891
Absolutely gorgeous florals, scrolls and swirls in high relief on both lid and body, this 3 piece serving bowl comes apart to accommodate a removable bowl. Raised on 4 short ornate claw feet, each topped by florals and medallions at the hip.
Dimensions:
Overall height 6" to top of finial
8 5/8" diameter (will fit a 8 1/2" diameter bowl with some room to spare)
2 3/4" deep (insert bowl to approx 2 1/2" deep)
One of the best things about this piece is the removable top ring which will cover the edges of a glass bowl and fits the outer diameter of the rim to make it appear as one solid piece.
Even with the loss of silverplate on the high parts of the medallions, the design of this bowl and the amount of reflection that it throws, any missing silver is masked well on its own. A great candidate for re-plating if you so wish!
