I am uncertain of the origin of this "chunk" of heavy glass, it has a combination of cutting, grey cuts, fine diamond cutting. The blank is the bowl and lid. The finial has hollow cut and a star on the top. The base is runs from 1/2" to 1 1/4" thick toward the center. There is a (what I think is pressed) 16 point star with a grey cut hobstar in the center.
I believe the final and stem have been applied.
This could be of European origin
Regardless, this is a very impressive piece, even with the inside chipping to the rim, it would make a great cabinet piece with tons of sparkle & rainbows!
