Unusual, Clean, Nice! A very charming but totally usable stoneware solid-glazed casserole or bean pot, marked HALL in a circle on the bottom of the dish. This can go from oven to table using the metal pierced heat guard that will protect you & your table. The bowl & lid measure 7" diameter & is 3" deep. Holds approximately 5-6 cups and is deep brown (almost back!) with the lid topped with a white handle which really adds to its unique appeal. The lid appears to be all one piece and both the dish & bowl have very minimal markings on the inside of the rims. The outer finish is in excellent condition with a great luster. I think the heat guard/ring is actually chrome and can be cleaned up to its original shine. I did use a bit of silver cleaner on it and the shine started to come back but my cleaner is not the correct type to use. No chips, cracks or crazing - this piece would be great in a vintage kitchen collection!
