This auction is for Disney's "Minnie's Valentines" pin. A bright & cheery Minnie opens her mailbox to find it overflowing with Happy Valentine's Day greetings. This unusual offering is for the Silvertone Prototype for this style pin. The Edition size for the style was 250 however there was 1 of each base metal color. These are known as 'Prototype or Artist Proof' pins and are what is used to determine the final 'look' of a style. They are quite simply, one of a kind pins and are highly prized by those seeking the most rare for their collections. Some are marked with 'AP' or other little stamps but others such as this and it's Goldtone 'mate' offered in a separate listing have no special or distingushing marks. Because of this, and even though "I know", these special pins are offered at less than if they been stamped. It is important though that a buyer of these items understand that they are "one of a kind prototypes".
