Looking rather like a Hi-Matic of the same era, the Autopak 700 is of a completely different design than the remainder of Minolta's line of 126 cameras that followed. It's a solid, metal rangefinder job that incorporates automatic, semi-automatic, and manual exposure modes, horizontal parallax compensation, and dynamic exposure value (EV) readout in the finder. The exposure system automatically adjusts for films with speeds from 25 to 400 ASA, and the lens ring accepts 55 mm filters; since the CdS cell lies within the lens ring, there is no need to bother with filter factors. For flash photography there are both a hotshoe and PC connector; a threaded shutter release and a tripod socket are also provided.
