First in a limited edition two volume set, Volume 1 sets the stage for Garth`s compilation mix CD of the same name. `Revolutions in Sound` picks up where the first Grayhound album `The Cisco System` left off - psychedelic soul for discerning ears.
The A Side more than holds it`s own with the acclaimed Community Recordings` percussive workout `Lifted Soul`. This record has been heavily requested since being deleted from the catalogue a couple of years back.
Garth had a hand in two of the Rocket songs on this 12" making up the B Side. Dano`s sublime dub of `EZ Rider` helped redefine the Grayhound sound with it`s broken beat, electro bassline combination, beautifully offset by a melodic sensibility that few have been able to emulate. It`s backed up by the ambient rock mix from Rocket`s `Serpent Fire` that came out during the label`s early days featuring Bay Area acid rock legend Sage on guitar. Included here as a novelty, the intro is teased in twice on the mix album.
