The Word And The Weasel |
Adam Tenenbaum is Nectar, an LA based house producer with plenty to say to those who appreciate great modern dub. As the Cali nights grow darker so do the Grayhound sounds. An Orange EP is a sinister three tracker with a penchant flair for spookin` the dancefloor. The A side`s `As She Peeled An Orange` witnesses Nectar letting rip on guitar, something he`s no stranger to, since he`s been rocking from the tender age of 8. Syncopated beats, bass and wicked use of effects will rattle DJ boxes through the winter. Nectar`s threatening more like this on Philly`s Worship and Abnormal in the UK. You been warned.
Sorry, no room for slouching on Side B either: `Mercurial Drums` is serious dub mayhem as Adam collaborates with Sean Kamano on this ruthless riddim workout. Heavy as mercury as the title suggests. The timbales on this one shimmer like the best on offer at a Wicked jam session, which Nectar cites as an early influence along with the Grateful Dead and The Orb.
Rounding off, B2`s `The Worm & The Weasel` could easily present as an A side with its cutting synths and searing effects programming. Just remember where you heard it first.
Record is in near mint condition.
