Celebrating Grayhound's 25th single, we're popping the corks and rolling the spliffs as Rocket emerge from summer hiatus. Garth & Eric James' last single 'Revolution' survived the buzz created by the likes of Roger Sanchez, Lee Burridge, Mr C & Laurent Garnier battering the title track on white label. And even Radio 1's Annie Nightingale caught singing Rocket's praises could do little to tarnish their steely resolve.
Months later... Rocket are back with two genre defying tracks from the forthcoming album. The A Side starts with the downbeat excursion 'Out With The Tide', an ode to splitting up and moving on. Tight drum and bass section, sparse female vocals that say it all and emotional horns that wash over you like silk. 'EZ Rider' picks it up a notch at 120 bpm, for a percussive fusion workout on the back of a Harley in the California night. Elements of house, drum & bass, and jazz fusion crap their collective pants as everyone does their best to hold on.
On the flip side we are proud to bring Red Melon's Dano back to Grayhound with 'Dano's Meloncholy Dub Remix' of 'EZ Rider'. It's a broken beat masterpiece that only proves why this guy's mixes are so popular with labels like NRK, Junior & Defected. A new generation of emotive house from a San Francisco producer who isn't afraid to keep pushing the envelope.
