Filtration Simplified
Sometimes it's the little things that count, like clamps that hold hoses exactly where you want them while filtering, and how the filter screen on the intake hose can be opened to remove debris. We have been filtering for many years so decided to make it simpler for anyone to start.
Reliable Pump
This is an example of the weak separated from the strong. Most pumps burn out with thicker vegetable oil. This Fill-Rite pump is built to move oils so is highly dependable with its solid brass gear design. No more worry about a pump with plastic parts inside. Protective shell encloses body and button is liquid shielded.
Smooth Frame
True portability with carrying handle and 12V power hookup. Frame securely holds device together while standing, or while hanging on the hooks. These make it easy to mount the unit on a barrel, truck tank, and even a thick lipped vegetable oil receptacle. Durability ensured by welded steel and powdercoated finish.
Inline Filters
10 Filters included. 2-Stage filtration, first at 10-Micron then at 1-Micron. Simple to switch out filter rods with included wrench. Each filter lasts on average 50 gallons. How it Works
Filter vegetable oil with relative ease. Attach alligator clips to 12V battery, flip the switch, and Vegetable Oil is powered through the GreaseBeast, emerging as fuel grade, filtered to 5 microns. This unit removes particles, not water – more below. Used cooking oil can be used for fuel, chemically prepared as Biodiesel or unmodified using a SuVO Conversion Kit. With correct knowledge and use, the GreaseBeast can be used “On the Go” to collect your free fuel. We have found this unit, through tens of thousands of miles of experience all over the USA, to be the quickest, most cost effective, easiest and cleanest method of collecting and filtering vegoil. How it is Used
The GreaseBeast comes completely assembled. There is a filter screen at the end of the collection hose that disallows large contaminants to be picked up, and which can be unscrewed easily to be cleaned. The GreaseBeast is suited to be the only thing needed to collect and filter oil, and has been used this way for many years. However this is undertaken in the confidence that there is not water in the oil.
Collecting & filtering vegetable oil has a learning curve. It requires patience and attention to determine a good batch of oil from a bad batch. Used correctly this unit will collect and filter vegetable oil to fuel quality. Good advice, especially for a novice, is to settle your oil for a few days or weeks first before running it through the GreaseBeast. This will allow particles and water to sink to the bottom of the barrel, and will substantially extend the life of the GB filters. Read the GreaseBeast Guide for best results. Waterblocking?
This GreaseBeast removes particles, not water. It can be easily modified to remove water as well, if you add a Waterblocker to your order we can install it for you.
The best advice is to collect oil without water. It is normally very apparent when there is water in the oil, as it is creamy. Water is heavier than oil, so will naturally sink to the bottom of a container, making it safe to collect off the top. To test for water in oil, heat a small sample, on a hotplate or pan for example. If there are pops and sizzles, there is water in the grease.
There are two types of water in oil: free & suspended. Free water is that which is not mixed thoroughly into the oil. The Waterblocker filter will capture this type of water very well, and will clog when it is full- disallowing any fluids to pass. Suspended water, which occurs when water is mixed more thoroughly with the vegoil, may make its way through a waterblocker element. This oil should be avoided if you are on the go, as settling or heating must be applied to remove this type of water. Starting with good oil, settling, and testing for water with heat are your best tools to complement the WaterBlocking technology.
Filter Rods
The filter rods are easy to swap out and are very affordable, especially in comparison to filter bags. Starting with quality oil with will yield the longest life. Your GreaseBeast comes with 10 Filter Rods - half 1 micron, half 10 micron. These will filter 150-500 gallons of oil. Individually sealed & labeled; 10” x 2.5”.
"Finding free fuel is an exciting prospect. There is a learning curve for this skill, and as any SVO enthusiast will tell you: research first, try it, and be persistent. Soon finding and collecting free fuel will become like second nature. To be clear, we are talking about cooking oil that a restaurant uses to fry food in. The oil is disposed of into barrels or vats/traps/dumpsters of different sizes, somewhere behind the building.
Generally Chinese food buffets are the first place worth looking. They use a lot of oil, with light batter so there is not much debris, and it tends to be changed regularly. Many suburban mini-malls have one of these buffets, or even small restaurants. On the other end of the spectrum, oil from fast food places is usually quite horrible. It is definitely worth checking if you are in serious need of oil, but we definitely haven't found much success with these locations. The oil is typically thick and creamy - not worth the time to attempt to filter."

Can I have it with a different pump?
At this time we are only building the GreaseBeast with the 3.5 GPM Gear Oil Pump, however if you have a custom request let us know. There are 12V and 110V pumps in our ebay store.
Vegetable Oil as Fuel?
Yes! Dr. Rudolf Diesel invented the engine to run on peanut oil! Diesels last a long time as long as there is proper lubrication, and vegetable oil as fuel assists with that greatly. Check out full SVO conversion kits in our ebay store!
Will this work in the Winter?
Yes, as long as the oil is liquid. Thick oil will not filter or pump well. Warm the oil in a black container or use a barrel heater to warm the oil before filtering.
