F.M.Jarrett Artocarpus reticulatus Hunter ex Ridl. Other names,  among them, kĕledang ( Mly. ); simar naka ( Bat. ); khanun-pa (Thai). At various places in Borneo, this tree is  known by various names such as Binturong, bunon, emputu, kakian, sedah, tempunang.  Also Kateh,  keledang, kledang, paribalek, peruput, pudu, tarap forest, katebung,  tiwadak banyu, and others.
Keledang trees are not abundant. However these are quite commonly found in lowland tropical rain forests and hills up to a height of 600 m altitude. Inflorescence in the head in armpits, the solitary females, males in pairs; male head spindle or similar form finger,  30-60 × 12-18 mm, smooth; stemmed 25-70 mm; Fruit a syncarp; olive brown to dull chestnut brown; rounded, covered with bumps similar short blunt spines; stemmed 4 cm. Seeds ellipsoid, 12-15 × 8 mm,  wrapped 'meat fruit' (actually the development of flower tent) whitish or light orange.	A medium-sized tree; reaching 36 m tall with a straight trunk; boles can reach 25 m and up to 275 cm gemang rod;  short buttresses. Pepagan smooth, gray-white to almost black, the interior is yellowish brown; white latex pale, thick. The fruits are edible. The  pulp is separated from seeds and eaten like jackfruits. These are sweet and taste like a mix of ripe jackfruit and mangosteen. The fruits are also offered  for sale in local markets. Uses The pulp surrounding the seeds is edible. An important source of keledang timber which is used in heavy construction,  furniture manufacture, boat-building, and for making household utensils and coffins.
Tree of medium size; height reaches 36 m with a straight rod; branch-free trunk can reach 25 m and gemang stems up to  275 cm ; ber buttresses short. bark smooth, gray-pale to almost black, the inside fawn; latex pale white, viscous. Twigs thick 6-8 mm , hairy or hairless. Leaves leverage wraps end of the branch, from 1.5 to 4.5 cm, with short hair, a scar in the shape of a ring of twigs.  The leaves are stiff menjangat, round egg lanceolate to round egg oblong, 10-35 × 5-20 cm; glabrous on both sides; edges rounded up to the pointed tail,  tail up to 12 mm; average edged up menggelombang; base narrowed, somewhat not symmetrical; stemmed 1-3 cm, glabrous, shallow or deep grooved on the upper  side. Leaves in children of different tree shapes, share or bercangap. Inflorescence in the head in the armpit, the solitary females, the male pairs. Male knob spindle or similar forms fingers, 30-60 × 12-18 mm, smooth;  stemmed 25-70 mm. Fruit apparent (syncarp) brown olive to brown chestnut dull; rounded, lk. 8 × 7 cm, covered by similar protrusions short blunt spines;  stemmed 4 cm. The seeds ellipsoid, 12-15 × 8 mm, wrapped in 'flesh' (actually the development of flower tent) whitish or orange light' Ecology In undisturbed to slightly disturbed mixed dipterocarp and sub-montane forests up to 1500 m altitude.  On hillsides and ridges with sandy to clay soils.	Tree with abundant white sap. Stipules surrounding the twigs, leaving circular scar when dropped. Leaves alternate,  simple (lobed in young trees), glabrous. Fruit placed on branches, c.8-12 cm diameter, with spines or warts, yellowish, with seeds in orange flesh.     Tree up to 35 m tall, 90 cm diameter, occasionally with low buttresses. Bark dark grey, smooth to scaly; inner     bark yellowish white. Twigs 6-8 mm thick, rugose, appressed hairy, minutely punctate. Stipules amplexicaul, ovate or lanceolate, acute, 1.5-4.5 cm long, appressed pubescent with short hairs. Leaves simple, spirally arranged, thick-coriaceous, entire in adult trees, deeply pinnately incised with equal segments  in juvenile trees, glabrous on both surfaces, drying greygreen; elliptic to ovate, obovate or oblong, rarely lanceolate to elliptic, 10-33 x 5-17 cm, base  cuneate, asymmetric, margin undulate, apex acute or obtuse; midrib raised above; lateral veins 7-14 pairs, raised on both surfaces; intercostal venation  scalariform, very faint below, invisible above; petiole 1-3 cm long. Inflorescences solitary or paired, axillary; bracts with funnel-shaped upper parts;  peduncle 2.5-7 cm, short-hairy. Male head ellipsoid to cylindrical, 3-6 x 1.2-1.8 cm. Female heads with peltate bracts; female flowers with exserted bifid  styles. Syncarps subglobose, 8-12 x 7 cm, olive- or chestnut-brown, tessellate by hardened truncate processes; peduncle 5-10 cm long; fleshy perianth  whitish-orange.)

They need good  light but not sunlight (full sun will burn small plants).  Small pots dry-out easily. Just sitting in a shallow tray of  water works well. The idea is to keep the plants from  dehydrating.  Be  careful if you decide to re-pot.  Re-potting voids any warranty. Plants are easily damaged  with new/different mix. Use NO fertilizers (this may kill  your plants). Proper care is critical upon arrival. Live Plants are NOT GUARANTEED  to survive under your care.
