Hawaii's Asian market is where I found these beautiful golden fruits. Korean Gold Melons have a crisp, honey sweet flesh, in a beautiful white color. I’m fond of this fruit when it’s served very cold. A small pale yellow melon with shallow white sutures commonly found in Asian markets. It's moderately sweet white to pale peach flesh. The rind is very thin and the seeds very small, so they can be eaten without peeling or seeding.  Korean Melons are totally cholesterol-free and also it is low in fat and calories. Also, low in sodium and beneficial for high blood pressure patients, Korean Golden Honey Melon is a good source of vitamin C and also calcium. It also has dietary fiber which helps in constipation. It is one of the five daily serving fruits that lower the risk of cancer. Dr Oz would love these. This hybrid Korean melon produces fruit with golden color skin that has silver lines running end-to-end. The white flesh is very crisp and sweet. Fruits are oblong in shape and about 300-750 grams in weight. The plant grows very well in greenhouse and open field. Excellent fruit settings. Strongly recommended for home gardening and fresh markets.	Cucumis melo genus Cucurbitaceae Chameh, Yamachee, Chamoe, Yellow Melon, Oriental Melon, Dua Gua or Chae Mae   Korean Gold Melons are small yellow melons with narrow white stripes. The flesh is sweet white to pale peach. The seeds are small and can be eaten. The taste and texture are like a cross between a honeydew melon and a cucumber.   The honeydew melon flavor is more predominant, the cucumber is the crunchy texture of it, Certainly very good tasting, it’s super refreshing, much more water content than cantaloupe or honeydew so it has a lighter feel, but denser than watermelon. In the market this fruit is little more expensive than the other melons.

Golden Honey Melon is a new hybrid melon recently developed in Korea. Round to slightly oval smooth yellow skinned melon often found in Asian markets.        These Korean Golden Honey Melons, in Hawaii sell for around $3-4/pound when in season.    The Korean Golden Honey Melons typically weighed between 1 pound to 2-1/4 pounds, 5 to 10 inches long, 3 to 6 inches diameter. The stem does not slip. The flesh is a very pale yellow-orange to white, fairly crisp and quite sweet. They are ripe when there is some springiness at the flower end.    Fruits are in round oblong shape with smooth skin in golden color and white flesh inside. The flesh is very sweet, delicious and crispy and is consumed by cutting it into half and scooping the flesh with a spoon, the seeds are edible as well.       Korean Golden Honey Melons grow very well in a fairly limited range, harvested annually between January to March in Korea, about 40 kg per hectare of melon ground. The plants themselves can usually tolerate temperatures to around 25 to 35 °F., thrives well in full sun region with loamy arid soil. Lowland is ideal for this fruit plant. A season of rainfall is essential. It's a fast growing and acclimatizing plant genus.

If you want one of this and one of that, it gets hard to discount much as each different species requires it's own prep & packing, then at USDA each has to be unwrapped and inspected then repacked. USDA requires me to clean and prepare every last piece before we drive them to the Inspection Station on the other side of the island. It takes my wife and I, a day to pack items and get ready to ship. The whole next day we drive around the island and get inspected (2-3 hours), then drive to the Airport Post Office to drop off. It takes the same work with the same type item if you can understand.

LIVE PLANTS ARE PERISHABLE. For this reason uninsurable.         When you order a plant we assume you are prepared to care for it. Please have potting media and a container prepared for your plant before it arrives. Shipping can be stressful on a plant, and any mistakes that you make upon arrival can stress the plant further, which is not good. Proper care is critical upon arrival. It is your responsibility to know how to care for the plant. Not every plant that I order through the mail survives, and I am aware of that and accept the risk when I order. This is the risk that you as the buyer accept, because there is no way to know what kind of conditions it will endure in the trip to your door. My responsibility ends when a live plant is delivered to your door. Live arrival is guaranteed, eternal survival is up to you.  Do NOT email me a week after potting your plant, and make a claim it arrived damaged. From delivery confirmation, you have only 48 hours from delivery confirmation to make any claim.	All claims need to be supported with Photos of the damaged plant(s) as packed/unpacked, the box if damaged, the packing materials and any documents. I am very reasonable and understanding, anything can happen to small plants in transit. The expense to send it to you is most of your payment.
